CHARACTERS IN NOLI ME TANGERE
	Maria Clara	A woman of high social standing, she is thought to be the daughter of Capitan Tiago and goddaughter of Father Dámaso. Maria Clara was a sweet and kindhearted young woman. Raised with affection, Maria Clara was well-loved by everyone around her.
	Sisa	Sisa's most prominent trait is her deep and unwavering love for her children, Basilio and Crispín. She is a devoted mother who cares for her sons intensely. Sisa's love for her children is her driving force, and she is willing to endure immense pain and suffering to protect and care for them.
	Pilosopo Tasyo	An old man who previously studied philosophy and is believed to be crazy by most of the community. He respects Ibarra and gives him valuable advice, and also helped Ibarra's father before him.
	Juan Crisóstomo Ibarra y Magsalin	A wealthy young mestizo who has just returned to the Philippines after seven years of studying in Europe. Ibarra is sophisticated, highly esteemed, and very idealistic.
	Elias	Elias was a selfless man bound by a code of honor. Growing up wealthy, he was initially an arrogant individual; his quarreling with a relative and beating up his disguised father was emblematic of this. After losing everything and learning the true history of his family, Elias dedicated himself to helping those also oppressed by society.
